Mason City left Alexandria on Friday night with a two-game sweep over the Blizzard after the Toros won a second straight game by the same 4-3 score.
Thursday’s game took overtime before Mason City got the game-winner, but Friday’s final came in regulation as the Toros (22-8-1, 45 points, 2nd West Division) stormed back from a 3-1 deficit with three third-period goals. Sota Isogai, Jordan Newpower and Luke Robertson all scored for the Toros in the third, with Robertson’s game-winning goal coming at 17:26.
The Blizzard (14-12-1, 29 points, 4th West Division) controlled the second period with three late goals. Ethan Moerke scored at 15:05 for Alexandria, and Luke Robertson evened the game less than a minute later for Mason City.
Matt McIntyre needed just nine seconds to give Alexandria the lead back before Kaden Peterson made it a 3-1 Blizzard lead at 18:24. McIntyre, Brady Goff and Sean Kenny all had an assist for the Blizzard.
Alexandria outshot the Toros 53-32, but Erik Chaffe had 50 saves to get the win. Bailey Rosch took the loss in net with 28 saves and four goals allowed.

Alexandria next plays on Jan. 8 when the Minnesota Loons (5-25, 10 points, 6th West Division) come to the Runestone Community Center for a 7:10 p.m. start.
