DOUGLAS COUNTY — Holiday travel may be a struggle in some areas as Old Man Winter has hit portions of west central Minnesota.
Douglas County is under a blizzard warning until 6 a.m. Saturday, with subzero temperatures and winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has enacted a no travel advisory on state and federal highways in some counties, but as of 1:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, Douglas County was not included.
In Grant County, both Highway 59 south of Barrett and Highway 27 west of Hoffman were included. And in Pope County, Highway 28 west of Starbuck and Highway 29 south of Starbuck were included.
Roads were closed because of whiteout conditions and reduced visibility creates hazardous driving conditions.

MnDOT snowplows continue to operate, but motorists are advised not to travel in these areas until conditions improve.
According to a post on the Douglas County, Minnesota Facebook page, the Public Works Maintenance Supervisor, Steve Johansen, said roads in Douglas County remain in decent condition. Although, he said the plows can't get up with drifting and would continue in the morning on Saturday, Dec. 24.
