As Forum Communications' director of content, Steve Wagner serves as the point person for content strategy and projects for the company's 30-plus newspapers. He oversees operations of Forum News Service, a regional wire provider to more than 100 newspapers, and guides newsroom collaboration between The Forum newspaper and WDAY TV. Wagner also conducts training related to content, reporting and newsroom advancement. Previously, he served as editor at the Grand Forks (N.D.) Herald and Bemidji (Minn.) Pioneer, and worked in writing and editing roles at The Forum, where he won numerous awards for news reporting.

FARGO — Forum Communications, a family-owned company operating multimedia properties in four states, has entered into an agreement to purchase the Rochester Post Bulletin from Small Newspaper Group. The sale was announced Thursday, May 16, to the Post Bulletin staff and is expected to take effect June 1. Small Newspaper Group President Len R. Small told the employees the new owners are “worthy custodians” of the company.

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Three people escaped a vehicle after it broke through the ice Sunday, Dec. 24, on Little Detroit Lake here. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office said the occupants of a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban escaped by breaking and exiting the driver’s side window after the vehicle fell into ice covering approximately 11 feet of water. The incident was reported at 6:40 p.m. Sunday to the Sheriff’s Office.
EMMONS, Minn. -- An Emmons, Minn., sailor killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor is finally on his way home. Navy Fireman 3rd Class Glaydon I.C. Iverson, 24, died on Dec. 7, 1941, aboard the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. His remains had been unidentified and buried in a plot at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific for more than 74 years.
SAUK CENTRE, Minn. — A semi driver died Saturday, Feb. 18, when the vehicle he was driving left Interstate 94 and struck trees east of Highway 71 in Stearns County. The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash was reported at 7:54 a.m. The driver, James Joseph Peifer, 61, of Brooklyn Center, Minn., was traveling west in a 2015 Freightliner when the tractor went off I-94. Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
