Training for drivers age 55 and up planned for Alexandria

It's part of a course that saves drivers up to 10% on auto insurance.

The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will be offering a four-hour driver safety refresher course at Grand Arbor in Alexandria from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10.

Aimed at drivers age 55 and older, the class will offer defensive-driving tips, law changes, vehicle technology and traffic safety.

Completion of an eight-hour course qualifies participants for a 10% discount on auto insurance. To maintain the discount, drivers must complete a four-hour refresher every three years.
