Dawn Score, a teacher at Woodland Elementary School, helped a group of students plant trees around the school for Arbor Day last Friday. Students and staff planted about 2,300 trees throughout the day as part of the master plan for the site.

Woodland Elementary School, the newest school for Alexandria School District 206, will open its doors to students in grades K-6 next month. A community open house is set for next Tuesday, August 25 from 4 to 8 p.m.
