Zion Lutheran School 7th-8th grade team set to play in a national basketball tournament

This is the first time that the school has played in the national tournament.

The Zion Lutheran School Cougars 7th-8th grade basketball team has accepted its invitation to the 75th Lutheran Basketball Association of America Tournament of Champions in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is set to begin the tournament on Thursday, March 23, 2023. The tournament runs through Sunday, March 26, 2023.

The tournament consists of 32 teams in both the boys and girls bracket.

The Cougars have had a good season which included a 4th place finish at the state tournament in February.

This is the first time that the team has made the tournament. The Cougars play Christ Lutheran School of Peoria, Illinois, to begin the tournament on Friday at 3:20 p.m. The Cougars will either play a team from Utica, Michigan, or Green Bay, Wisconsin, in their next game.

The tournament games will be live-streamed by BallerTV on LBAA.org for free.
