In a Thursday night preview of what might be the Section 6A championship dual, fifth-ranked Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie outlasted 11th-ranked West Central Area-Ashby-Brandon-Evansville in a 42-29 final.
The Knights (23-4) beat top-ranked Long Prairie-Grey Eagle-Browerville on Feb. 25 in part because they were able to limit the bonus points for the Wolves. It was those bonus points that helped propel the Raiders (24-7) on Thursday.

The Knights trailed 24-0 before Reubens Swanson stopped the bleeding at 145 pounds with a technical fall (18-3) over Justin Koehn. Jordan Lohse (152, 0:43), Anthony Sykora (160, 5:10), Nathaniel Kisgen (182, 1:02) and Colton Lindquist (220, 2:49) each added pins for WCA.
