Some of the best nordic skiers in the United States competed at the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association National competition from March 7-9, 2023, in Mammoth, California.
Among those competitors were two Alexandria class of 2021 alums, Emma Reineke and Kaisa Bosek, who had stellar performances in all three races. Bosek is attending Paul Smith College in Pauls Smith, New York, while Reineke attends the University of Minnesota.
In the 1.5-kilometer sprint championship, Reineke placed 15th (3:43.3), and Bosek placed 21st (3:49.4).

Each event had at least 44 competitors.
Bosek placed 19th in the 15k freestyle mass start (11:02:33.78), and Reineke placed 26th (11:04:28.25). In the 7.5 km classic, Bosek placed 21st (37:16.5), and Reineke placed 29th (38:37.2). There was supposed to be a sprint relay race, but that was canceled due to a major snowstorm.
Bosek also competed in the 2023 IBU Junior World Open Championships in Latvia from Feb. 15-19, 2023. Bosek placed 79th (30:08.4) out of 104 competitors in the 7.5 km sprint.

Kristen Hoskins, a 2022 Alexandria alum, played in two games in the fall this season for the University of Minnesota football team and redshirted this season. Minnesota went 9-4 this season and won the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.
For the University of North Dakota football team, Jaden Norby, an Ashby alum in his sophomore year at UND, played in 10 games in 2022 and caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. North Dakota had a 7-5 record this season.

Jaya Hatlestad completed her sophomore season for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (NCAA DII) women’s basketball team and helped the team earn a 14-11 record this season. The Alexandria alum played in seven games this season and earned a spot on the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Sportsmanship team.

Brandon-Evansville alum Titus Fuller played in eight games for Crown College (NCCAA DII) in his freshman season. Crown College had a 20-11 record this season and took third place in the National Christian College Athletic Association DII National Tournament. Fuller scored nine points in a game on March 3, 2023, against Faith Baptist Bible College.

In his freshman season for the Concordia-Moorhead men’s basketball team (NCAA DIII), Ashby alum Jacob Cook played in 19 games and averaged 8.4 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. He shot 50 percent from the field (40.6 percent from the three-point line) and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Alexandria alums (class of 2021) Andrew Revering and Ben Doherty recently completed their season for the Bethel men’s hockey team. Revering, a defenseman played in 21 games this season and recorded four assists. Doherty, a forward, Doherty played in 13 games and had two assists. Bethel (NCAA DIII) had a 10-14-1 record this season.

Marki Oberg, an Alexandria alum, recently completed her sophomore season for the St. Thomas women’s hockey team (NCAA DI). Oberg played in 11 games for St. Thomas (8-27-1) and had four shots on net.
Alexandria alum Brienna Timm completed her junior year for the Concordia-Moorhead (NCAA DIII) women’s swimming and diving team. Timm was on one leg of the 400 freestyle relay team that finished seventh at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet in February. She helped the team win that event in a meet on Nov. 5, 2022, against Hamline.
