The West Central Area boys golf team put four players in the top six of the individual standings on the way to winning at Tipsinah Mounds on May 4.

The Knights shot a team score of 333. That was well in front of second-place Hillcrest Lutheran at 357 and Underwood at 370. Border West (378), Ortonville (392) and Ottertail Central (404) rounded out the field.

Grant Beuckens was second overall with a 75. Underwood’s Trevor Swonger won the meet with a 71, while Marshall Dewey (85), Mitch Dewey (86) and Tate Christensen (87) rounded out WCA’s scoring. Peyton Hanson (88) and Sam Hanson (89) finished off the lineup.

“Grant had a solid round with a 75 and then to see the next five guys at 85, 86, 87, 88, 89 is awesome,” WCA head coach Kraig Hunter said. “That depth has helped us all year because on any given day, any of them could post one of the four team scores. If someone is having an off day, their teammates will be there to pick them up."
