West Central Area boys golf grabs another conference win

The West Central Area boys golf team won another Quad County Conference meet on Thursday, this time at Pebble Lake Golf Club where the Knights shot a 357.

That edged Hillcrest Lutheran by five strokes, while Ortonville (403), Pillager (408), Rothsay (430) and Border West (460) rounded out the teams.

The Knights had four top-six finishers. Mitch Dewey (third, 85), Grant Beuckens (fourth, 89), Marshall Dewey (fifth, 91) and Peyton Hanson (sixth, 92) led WCA to the win. Tate Christenson added a 94 as the team’s fifth player, and Devon Benson shot a 100.

Joel Quam of Hillcrest Lutheran won the meet with a 77. Underwood’s Trevor Swonger was second with an 80.
