The Alexandria volleyball team continued a solid stretch of play by winning three of four matches at its annual Runestone Invitational to win their home tournament on Saturday.

The Cardinals (14-10) won 2-0 against Big Lake and 2-1 against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and Mounds View around a 2-1 loss to Morris Area-Chokio-Alberta (10-10).

Against Big Lake, Erika Roderick set up her hitters with 21 assists to go along with seven digs and two aces. Tessa McGrane had 12 digs, and Maggie Anderson finished with nine kills. Mia McGrane had a team-high 12 kills and 26 digs against Morris, while Meg Shercliffe had 14 digs and Ella Grove added nine kills and five digs. Mia McGrane added another 13 kills and 14 digs against BBE. Shercliffe had 14 digs and Grove chipped in 12 kills.

Alexandria won the championship match against Mounds View (13-7) by scores of 20-25, 25-23 and 15-13. Mia McGrane had 19 kills, 15 digs and one block. Cora Larson added 23 assists and four digs and Tessa McGrane had 17 digs, two assists and one ace.
