Since losing to Henning at home on Sept. 10, the Brandon-Evansville volleyball team has dropped only one set in its last five matches.

Tuesday night was another win with ease for the Chargers against Battle Lake. A sweep of the Battlers (4-9) made it five straight wins for B-E.

“Traveling to Battle Lake is always a challenge because Jenny (Roisum) and her teams always play so hard,” B-E head coach Kelly Olson said. “Tonight was no different. I was pleased that we jumped out to good-sized leads in each of the three sets to help us play relaxed. I think that puts more pressure on Battle Lake.”

B-E won the first two sets 25-14 and 25-13. The Battlers kept things close in the third set, but ultimately fell 25-21. Kailee Klimek had four aces and five kills. Bailey Schaefer and Mikenna Pattrin combined for 30 kills and four blocks.

“We were efficient, and did a great job attacking the block,” Olson said. “The players have worked very hard on a number of fundamental skills over the past couple of weeks and it was that effort that really helped us tonight.”
