The West Central Area volleyball team is still trying to break its losing streak after Tuesday night’s match against the Wheaton-Herman-Norcross Warriors (11-5).
The Knights (2-11) started the season 2-2. Since then, they have lost nine straight matches and are in desperate need of a win.
“It’s been a mentally-draining last couple of weeks,” head coach Melissa Fosslien said. “We are not clicking yet and are having a hard time getting into a groove on offense. It starts with communication and teamwork. Once we start playing together, exciting things will happen.”
Hailey Bennett had eight digs and 10 set assists. Kaleigh Anderson led the Knights with 11 digs. Morgan Stark finished the match with six kills.
“We are working on our mental game in practice,” Fosslien said. “We are trying to push ourselves to execute plays under pressure situations. We also need to remember to have fun and enjoy this awesome game that gives us the opportunity to play. I have faith that it will get better for this team.”
