The West Central Area volleyball team is in a slump.
After losing at close game to Ortonville on Tuesday 3-2, the Knights were swept by Hancock on Thursday night.
“It’s difficult to find words for this week’s results,” head coach Melissa Folsien said. “We are struggling to find a consistent lineup. We’ve played well in spurts, but just cannot get the mental edge on a team. If we could catch a break and gain our confidence back, we could be a totally different team.”
Through the hard times on the court, Fosslien is still seeing her girls get better and fight through adversity.
“There has been a great improvement from Liz Rustan and Brooke Anderson,” she said. “Kaylyn Ulrich has also stepped in and played solid on the outside.”
The Knights have two games next week against Wheaton and Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley. Foslien is looking forward to seeing some better results.
“We had a lot of dropped balls and lack of communication, which I know we can improve on,” Fosslien said. “We need our fans to support us in the upcoming games next week. Our girls need their confidence back, and we hope to always stay positive even through the valleys we face. This game just wasn’t meant to be, but we are determined to change the results when we see them again.”
