The Alexandria volleyball team went on the road to Sauk Rapids on Tuesday and came back with a 3-1 win over the Storm (2-6, 1-3 Central Lakes Conference) that moved the Cardinals to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the CLC.
Alexandria lost the first set 25-19. The Cardinals seemed destined to be in a 2-0 hole after falling behind 16-3 in the second set, but they rallied from there, winning 25-23.
That turned the tide in Alexandria’s favor as the Cardinals won the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-14.
Senior Mia McGrane had a team-high 16 kills to go with nine digs, two aces and a block. Ella Grove had 14 kills, one dig and one block. Erika Roderick had 26 assists, four kills and two aces and Tessa McGrane finished with 15 digs and two aces.
Up next for the Cardinals is another CLC match against Willmar (6-3, 2-1 CLC) on Thursday night at 7.
