The Alexandria volleyball team had its perfect start in the Central Lakes Conference come to an end on Thursday night as the Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres won in four sets.

The Cardinals (2-2, 2-1 CLC) got off to a good start by stealing a close first set by a 27-25 final. The Sabres (3-0, 2-0 CLC) responded from there by controlling the second set, 25-16. They then put the match away with 25-20 wins in the third and fourth.

Alexandria got 13 kills from senior Ella Grove, while fellow senior Mia McGrane added 12. Senior Erika Roderick had 31 assists, and senior Meg Shercliffe led the way from the back row with 14 digs.
