The Osakis volleyball team was a win away from wrapping up its first overall victory of the season in the home opener on Thursday night, but Paynesville stole sets four and five to win a 3-2 contest.

The Silverstreaks won sets two and three by scores of 25-19 and 25-23 after Paynesville had taken the first by a 25-20 final. The Bulldogs brushed that aside and won sets four and five by scores of 25-14 and 15-13.

Laynee Hartshorn led Osakis in kills for the second straight match as she tallied 12. Jacey Larson had six kills and Alexis Johanson and Madisen Johanson each had five. Madison Johanson also had a team-high 16 assists to go with 19 digs. Alli Rach led the Silverstreaks from the back row with 24 digs.
