The Minnewaska volleyball team ended its season in Paynesville with a three set defeat in the opener of the Section 3, Class AA tournament on Thursday night.
The Lakers overall season record finishes at 4-20.
Paynesville (17-7) took the first set 25-12. The Lakers pushed in the second set, making it a smaller margin of victory but the Bulldogs took it, 25-23. The match was sealed by a 25-15 score.
Bailey Stewart and Emma Thorfinnson each had nine digs for the Lakers on the night. Thorfinnson had a team leading eight kills followed by Ellie Danielson with six. Danielson also had six ace blocks and seven digs.
