The Minnewaska volleyball team scored its first West Central Conference victory when the Lakers hosted Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City on Tuesday night.
The Lakers took the first set 25-22. The Falcons fought back and claimed the close second set, 27-25. But the Lakers took the match by securing victories in the third and fourth sets, 25-12 and 25-13, respectively.
Ellie Danielson led at the net and on defense with 10 of the team's 33 total kills and 16 of the team's 67 total digs. Sara Geiser had three aces, 13 digs and 14 assists.
This victory brings the Lakers' overall record to 5-15 with a conference record of 1-9.
The Lakers' head to Montevideo on Thursday, Oct. 5 to play the Thunder Hawks (8-10) at 7:30 p.m.
