The Minnewaska volleyball team fell in its third straight loss when it hosted Melrose on Thursday night for a West Central Conference match.
The first set was close, but the Dutchmen took the set 26-24. The Lakers lost momentum from there. They failed to get double digits on the scoreboard in the second and third sets of the match, losing 25-9 and 25-5.
Ellie Danielson led the Lakers at the net with five kills. Bailey Stewart had 13 digs followed by Danielson with 12 with three ace blocks. Madisen Hall and Sierra Lindemann each had two blocks at the net.
This defeat drops the Lakers overall record to 4-18 with a conference record of 1-12.
The Lakers head for Morris for their last match of regular season play. The match against the Tigers (18-5) is set for Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
