Volleyball: Lakers drop last match to Tigers

The Minnewaska volleyball team was on the road for its final match of regular season play on Tuesday night. A three set defeat to Morris Area-Chokio-Alberta completed a four match losing streak for the Lakers.

The Minnewaska volleyball team was on the road for its final match of regular season play on Tuesday night. A three set defeat to Morris Area-Chokio-Alberta completed a four match losing streak for the Lakers.

This is the second time this season the Lakers have fallen to the Tigers in three sets.

Morris took the first set 25-18. The Lakers pushed back in the second, making it a closer 25-23 defeat. A 25-20 victory for Morris in the third set gave it the match victory.

Ellie Danielson led the Lakers at the net with 14 of the team's 28 total kills. Sara Geiser, Jessica Lanoue and Bailey Stewart each had 10 total kills for the Lakers.

This loss drops the Lakers' overall season record to 4-19 with a West Central Conference record of 1-13 and a Section 3AA-North record of 0-5.

The Lakers are currently seeded seventh in the Section 3AA-North in the Minnesota-scores.net QRF rankings. Section play opens on Monday, Oct. 23.
