Viking Speedway: Crouse back on top in Super Stock, Youngquist wins short trackers

On Saturday night, Jeff Crouse took home another first-place finish in the Wissota Super Stock division at the Viking Speedway.

Dalton’s Trevor Saurer and Glenwood’s Matt Miller rounded out the top-three finishers in the Super Stock feature. Crouse has four wins but sits in third place in the points standings behind Miller and Saurer.

Alexandria’s Andrew Bangsund took second in the Street Stock race behind Dent’s Ryan Satter. Satter has a 168-point lead in the standings with his seven wins this summer.

The Short Trackers division returned to Alexandria, where Kevin Youngquist out of Barney, ND took first in the feature. Dent’s Shawn Robinson took second while Devin and Hunter Goulet of Fargo ND finished third and fourth.

Josh Thoennes out of Nelson took first place in the Modified feature. Behind him was Villard’s Brady Gerdes, followed by Tavis Saurer from Elizabeth. Gerdes leads Dustin Bitzan of Brandon by 30 points in the season standings.

Randy Laage took the top spot in the Wissota Midwest Mods, followed by Jon Carlson and Alexandria’s Shawn Olson. Olson is running away with the top spot in the points standings. He opened up a 169-point lead over Taylor Bitzan with his third-place finish.
