The Minnewaska boys tennis team picked up a 6-1 win over New London-Spicer in its final match of the regular season.
Tate Reichmann continued his impressive run at No. 1 singles with a 6-0 6-0 win over Kenny Schmiesing. Ethan Quelle and Tenzin Dahl picked up two-set victories in Nos. 3 and 4 singles.
The Lakers swept all three doubles matchups, including a 6-3, 7-6 (7) win at No. 1 doubles from Nik VanDyke and Damon Uhde. Logan and Aiden Maanum won at No. 2 doubles 6-4, 6-3, while Connor Quelle and Noah Palmer won in three sets over Josh Soto and Ethan Spors.
The Lakers are the No. 2 seed in the Section 8A tennis tournament starting Tuesday. They will take on seventh-seeded Perham, who they beat 6-1 earlier this season.
Osakis heads into its first section playoff in over two decades as the eighth seed in the tournament. They will take on Thief River Falls, who earned the top seed in the field.
The Silverstreaks dropped their last match of the regular season 4-3 at St. Cloud Cathedral. Isaac Maddock and Jacob Taplin won their singles matches, while Tyler Stier and Micah Moore won the No. 3 doubles matchup.
In the Section 8A singles tournament, Minnewaska’s Reichmann earned the top seed in the section. Osakis’ Maddock is the No. 3 seed while Logan Grove is seventh. Minnewaska’s Quelle is the fourth and final area competitor as the 11th seed in the tournament.
In the doubles tournament, Uhde and VanDyke are seeded sixth, while the Maanum duo is 12th. Osakis’ Jacob Uhle and Bryce Moen are 14th, while Marcus Wolf and Conner Gulbranson are the final duo in the field.
