The Osakis boys tennis program won its season opener on Friday night as the Silverstreaks beat a shorthanded MACCRAY team 5-2.

The Wolverines were down players heading into the meet and had to forfeit the second and third doubles spots. Osakis won three other contested spots to secure the team win.

Sophomore Isaac Maddock jumped right into his role at No. 1 singles and did not drop a game in a straight-set win over Gabe Sparks. Senior Logan Grove won a tight three-setter at second singles, and senior Jacob Uhl won in two sets at fourth singles.

“We were happy with how the boys played today in our first match of the season,” Osakis head coach Ryan Maddock said.
