The Minnewaska tennis team scored a win in West Central Conference play against Staples Motley on Tuesday at the Stay-Fit Athletic Center.
The only match Staples Motley took was fourth singles. Lakers' Maddie Kluver lost to Jenna Dvorak, 6-1, 6-4. Karra Hanson had a close match with Haylee Wold in second singles, but Hanson took the point, 6-2, 5-7, (10-3).
Danielle Thorfinnson took first singles against Kelsi Peterson, 6-1, 6-3. Maddie Thorfinnson beat Rose Han in third singles, 6-1, 6-1.
The Lakers swept the doubles matches.
Anna Vold and Greta Reichmann went to three sets in first doubles, but they earned their point, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Cammy Mithun and Alissa Thorfinnson only surrendered one game in second doubles, 6-0, 6-1. Madelynn Reichmann and Annika Randt took third doubles, 6-1, 6-2.

This victory improves the Lakers overall record to 14-5 and makes their conference record 8-0.
The Lakers play in the Section 6A Quarterfinals on Monday, Oct. 9 at 8 a.m. at Fitness Evolution in Sartell.
