The Alexandria boys swimming and diving team overcame an early relay disqualification to win its final dual meet of the regular season.

Alexandria beat Willmar 113-70 behind 10 first-place finishes. Nicolas Welle continued his strong senior season by earning low times in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles. He was also in the 400-yard freestyle relay with Logan Tung, Anthony Hoyt and Carter Holm (1:03.11).

Thomas Williams had a pair of first-place finishes. He swam the 100-yard butterfly in 55.29 and the 100-yard backstroke in 58.09. Tung took first in the breaststroke with a time of 1:03.11.

Caden Kavanagh and Aiden Staples took first and second in diving. Kavanagh logged a score of 367.65, while Staples scored 334.80.

Alexandria’s top 200-yard medley relay team was disqualified in the first race of the night. However, the second unit came away with a silver finish. Eric Peterson, Ethan Johnson, Mark Meece and Zachary Timm clocked in at 2:00.97.
