After a loss to perennial-power Sartell-St. Stephen in the season opener, the Alexandria swimming and diving team has rattled off three straight wins.

On Tuesday, it was a road contest against Willmar where Alexandria came away with a 103-81 victory.

Hattie Galloway helped highlight the meet with a personal-best time in winning the 200 freestyle in 2:03.66. That was the first of seven wins for Alexandria, with the team depth being a little more than Willmar to help secure the win.

Galloway added to her night with another win in the 50 freestyle (25.86). The diving group also had a nice night with freshman Erica Johnson (207.90 points) winning the varsity competition. She posted the highest point total from an Alexandria diver in more than four years.

All six divers between the junior varsity and varsity meets had personal-best scores as eighth-grader Lauren Hornstein took second in varsity with 179.40 points.

“With so many first-year divers, it was great to see them have such a successful night,” head coach Crysta Krause said.

Aleah Dokter won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.53 as part of three top-four finishes in that event for Alexandria. Summer Overland took the 500 freestyle (5:45.91) and McKenna Horan won the 100 backstroke (1:06.41) to round out Alexandria’s group of individual winners.

The 400-freestyle relay team of Overland, Horan, Galloway and Jisella Haskamp also finished off the meet with a win in a time of 3:55.91.
