Alexandria junior Ashtyn Molesworth will head into the offseason with a little momentum after making it to the finals at the Class A state swimming and diving meet this weekend.

Molesworth advanced to the finals with a prelims swim in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09. She then dropped even more time on Saturday, finishing in 1:08.05 to take ninth in the meet. Molesworth entered with a seed time of 1:07.58, which is a school-record time she set at the section meet. Hannah Hintermeister of Richfield won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.41.

Molesworth also joined teammates Sidney Johnson, Aleah Dokter and Hattie Galloway in swimming the 200-medley relay at state. They finished 22nd in prelims with a time of 1:54.61 after entering with a seed time of 1:52.52.
