The Alexandria swimming and diving team showed some of its progress this season by taking down St. Cloud Tech in a 101-85 dual meet on Tuesday night.
The Tigers beat Alexandria 95-91 last fall, but the Cardinals spoiled Tech’s first meet in its newly-opened pool by showing off too much depth for the Tigers overall.
Tech actually had more event wins than Alexandria, but the Cardinals loaded up on second and third-place finishes to rack up more team points.
Seventh-grader Grace Urke again had a good meet for Alexandria as she won the 200 IM (2:26.96) and the 100 breaststroke (1:15.52), while also being part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team with Sidney Johnson, Julia Wilmesmeier and Ashtyn Molesworth. Sophomore Hattie Galloway won the 100 butterfly in 1:04.13, and Ashtyn Molesworth took the 100 freestyle in 57.36 seconds.
