BOYS BASKETBALL
HOLDINGFORD 58, OSAKIS 45
The Osakis basketball team was only able to manage 14 first half points in a 58-45 loss to Holdingford on the road Tuesday.
Head coach Matt Hoelscher said the Silverstreaks did better job in keeping up with Holdingford in the second half.
“Gave up too many second shots in the first half and allowed them to get to the rim easily,” Hoelscher said. “Defensively, we played better in the second half, but they are athletic and we got beat off the dribble and our helpside was late in stopping penetration.”

Zach Weir led the Silverstreaks with 16 points. Haden Hendricks and John Boogaard each added 10 points.
Boogaard also grabbed eight rebounds in the game.
Hoelscher said turnovers are another thing the Silverstreaks are working on this year.
“Offensively, we are still turning it over too much, but when we took care of the ball got the shots we wanted,” he said.
The loss dropped Osakis to 0-6 this year.
