The Alexandria softball team capped off a season that included a run to the Section 8-3A championship by handing out its team awards and honoring a few of the athletes that helped lead the Cardinals to a 16-8 record.

Senior Paige Habberstad earned Alexandria’s Team Player Award, and senior Emma Magaard and junior Aubrie Porter shared the final two team awards by being named the most-improved players for the Cardinals.

Habberstad played in 15 games and racked up nine runs scored and four RBIs. Porter hit at a .306 clip through 22 games played as she finished with 14 RBIs and 17 runs scored. Magaard was the top run producer for the Cardinals with 34 RBIs and 34 runs scored as she hit .372 with an on-base percentage of .419.

Magaard and fellow seniors Emily Harris and Brooklyn Stender were All-Central Lakes Conference players after helping Alexandria to a 10-6 CLC record.

Harris hit .319 with a .456 on-base percentage with 25 RBIs and 27 runs scored in 24 games played. She led the team with three home runs, while also pitching a team-high 69 1/3 innings where she posted a 9-4 record with a 4.54 ERA.

Brooklyn Stender

Stender led the Cardinals in batting with a .460 average to go with a .564 on-base percentage. She had 14 RBIs and scored 27 runs with the help of five doubles, two triples and one home run.

Senior Josie Steidl (.265 BA, .359 OBP, 9 RBIs, 9 runs), junior Jordan O’Kane (.383 BA, .473 OBP, 11 RBIs, 19 runs), sophomore Kinzie Johnson (.379 BA, .481 OBP, 28 RBIs, 19 runs) and freshman catcher Chloe Loch (.277 BA, .386 OBP, 7 RBIs, 4 runs) added honorable-mention All-CLC honors for this team.
