A late-first half goal carried Alexandria to a 2-1 win in Sartell on Thursday night.

With under a minute remaining in the opening 40 minutes, Cardinal defender Lexi Berger advanced the ball up to Allie Randazzo. From 16-yards out, Randazzo found the back of the net with one second left in the half.

Alexandria carried that momentum through the intermission when Morgan Jones gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead. After receiving a pass from defender Ellen Panther, she scored on a sharp-angle shot from 15-yards out.

Satell cut the lead in half with 16 minutes remaining, but did not find a second to tie the game. Alexandria goalkeeper Sophia Vinje made six saves in the win. Despite the loss, Sartell’s Anna Lundeen made 13 saves.
