Alexandria senior Joshua Kietzmann helped lead the Cardinals’ boys soccer team to a competitive season, and he was honored for that by being named the program’s overall MVP.
It was part of two awards he brought home after also earning the MVP Forward Award.
Jake Siira took home that honor among the midfielders. Nate Schneiderhan was the MVP on defense and earned the Hardest Worker Award, and sophomore goaltender Ryan Meuwissen was named the most-improved player.
Alexandria finished the season at 9-9-1 overall. The Cardinals won two games in the Section 8A Tournament before running into top-seeded Bemidji in a loss in the semifinals.
Alexandria has named Jacob Partington, Jaeger Steele and Colin Reilly as captains heading into the 2020 season.
