The Minnesota Trapshooting Association held its state shoot in Alexandria from July 2-8 where trap shooters from around the country gathered to compete for Minnesota titles.
Colton Sherman of Brandon-Evansville posted some good results as he busted a perfect 100 straight with three other shooters in the Warm-up Singles event. The recently graduated senior also shot a 96 in the Warm-up Doubles competition to finish in the top 10 of that event. In the Minnesota singles championship, Sherman shot a 199 out of a possible 200, but it took that perfect 200 to win. Harlan Campbell of Kansas and Scott Myren of South Dakota posted those perfect scores to tie for the title. Sherman's high all-around score of 296 had him tied for fifth.
In the Minnesota Handicap Championship, Alexandria's Kallista Roers and Nicolas Witt followed up a nice spring season with the high school team by shooting a 99 to tie four other shooters with the top mark.
