The Alexandria baseball team (5-2) swept Central Lakes Conference rival Brainerd on the road on Tuesday night to drop the Warriors to 1-6 on the season.
The Cardinals came to play offensively in 9-2 and 9-6 wins. Alexandria trailed 4-0 after a half an inning in the nightcap, but bounced right back with three runs in the bottom of the first. The Cardinals added four more in the sixth to secure the win.
Elijah Holthaus, Nate Hammerback, Shay Endres and Devin Cimbura all had two RBIs in the 9-6 win. Parker Jendro got the win in relief by going the final three frames and allowing just one hit and one unearned run.
Devan Swerman had a huge game in the 9-2 win as he doubled three times and finished with four RBIs. Devin Cimbura added a double and three RBIs.
Senior right-hander Shay Endres continued his hot start on the mound by allowing just two unearned runs in five innings. He struck out five and walked one while allowing three hits.

Endres (3-0) has not allowed an earned run in 15.2 innings during his three pitching starts. He has allowed just 10 hits, four unearned runs and struck out 27, while walking six.
