Roundup: Nack, Triebenbachs lead Osakis in Paynesville, while WCA boys roll in Ortonville

The Osakis boys and girls golf teams were at the Koronis Hills Golf Club on Monday where the boys finished with a 174 in a tie for first with Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and Kadyn Triebenbach won the medalist honors in the girls’ meet.

Triebenbach shot a 44, while Madison Lipke carded a 57 and Averyonna Graff finished with a 67. The Osakis girls did not qualify for a team score due to lack of numbers.

Freshman Chase Triebenbach nearly matched his sister as the meet medalist as he carded a 39. That was good for a tie for second with his teammate, junior Aaron Nack.

Junior Logan Lipke added a 43 for Osakis, and sophomore Noah Nessman shot a 53 to finish Osakis’ scoring. Freshman Cody Helm shot a 54 and Hunter Sell a 62 to round out the lineup.

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa had a better fifth score than Osakis after three Jaguars finished with rounds of 44. Gannon Walsh and Spencer Lundberg each shot 43 to lead BBE.

WCA boys win Ortonville Invite

The West Central Area boys won the Ortonville Invite with a 355 on Monday. That was 12 shots lower than Hillcrest at 367.

The Knights were led by Grant Beuckens (85), Mitch Dewey (87), Peyton Hansen (90), Marshall Dewey (93), Tate Christenson (100) and Sam Hanson (110). Beuckens’ 85 was good for second place, while Trevor Swanger of Underwood won the meet with a 74.
