Silverstreaks top Morris-WCA
Osakis tennis ran its record to 6-2 on Tuesday as the Silverstreaks went on the road and left with a 6-1 win over Morris Area-West Central Area.
Kassidy Girard got Morris-WCA’s lone win at second singles, but Mara VanNyhuis, Larissa Hoffarth and Lexi Spychalla all won in straight sets in singles for Osakis. The doubles lineup followed suit as Kennedy George and Ellie George, Makenzie Lien and Tessa Stanek and Hatti Schmidtbauer and Madi Collins won in straight sets.
“We had good efforts all throughout the lineup today at Morris,” head coach Ryan Maddock said. “It was a really windy day, so that caused some problems with timing for kids on both teams. I thought we did a good job of adjusting to the playing conditions in getting a good win versus an experienced Morris/WCA team.”
