ALEXANDRIA — Blake Stedronsky and Zach Peterson made the biggest noise in the Men’s Regular 1st Flight match play round on Wednesday, as they pulled off some big upsets.

Stedronsky, the No. 15 seed, defeated the No. 2 seed Kyle Story and Peterson defeated No. 6 Rob Stanz as the No. 11 seed. Here are the full results from Wednesday’s matches.

Cummings def. Domine, 2-1

After trailing by one through 14 holes, top seed Jack Cummings won holes 6 through 8 over 16th seeded Jordan Domine to win 2-up.

Domine won holes 10, 15 and 18 while Cummings won holes 13, 17, 6, 7 and 8.

Petzel def. J. Dierks, 5-4

The No. 8 seed Cory Petzel played par golf on his first nine holes, which led him to having a 3-up lead over the No. 9 seed Jack Dierks.

Petzel put a bow on his round with wins on holes 3 and 5 to win 5-4.

Ballou def. Bowden, 1-up

The match between the No. 13 seed Parker Bowden and No. 4 seed Andrew Ballou was a back-and-forth, seesaw battle that saw Ballou lead 4-up after the first four holes and Bowden fight back to tie it up after nine.

Bowden even took the lead with a birdie at No. 2. But Ballou responded by winning the next five out of seven holes to regain control. Ballou birdied the last two holes.

Resler def. Sansted, 7-6

The fifth seeded Luke Resler got going early against the No. 12 seed Peter Sansted, which helped him win 7-6. Resler won the first six out of seven holes with the lone loss being because of a birdie by Sansted on the 12th hole.

Leading 5-up heading to the second nine, Resler delivered the final blow by winning the 1st and 2nd hole and tying on the third.

Stedronsky def. Story, 1-up

The No. 15 seed Blake Stedronsky pulled off the biggest upset of the day by winning 1-up over the No. 2 seed Kyle Story.

Story had been 3-up through 12 holes before Stedronsky made a comeback, which was capped off by winning holes 8 and 9 to win the match.

Larson def. P. Dierks, 2-1

The No. 7 seed Riley Larson and No. 10 Peter Dierks were locked in a tense battle after the first nine with Larson having a slight 1-up edge on Dierks. With a par on the 8th hole, Larson got the win he needed to win 2-1.

Larson won holes 11, 12, 13, 15 and 8 in that order, while Dierks won holes 10, 14, 17 and 18.

DuBe def. Sahil, 1-up

Much like the Larson-Dierks match, the match between No. 14 seed Aaron Sahil and No. 3 seed Logan DuBe was a barnburner.

DuBe led 3-up through 13 holes, but Sahil responded by winning the next three out of four to tie things up heading to the last hole.

DuBe’s par on the ninth hole gave him the hole and the win 1-up.

Peterson def. Stanz, 2-up

With the match tied heading into the final two holes, the No. 11 seed Zach Peterson birdied the 8th hole and parred the ninth to earn a 2-up victory over the No. 6 seed Rob Stanz.

Prior to those two holes, Stanz had won the last three out of four. Peterson birdied three holes on his first nine, which helped give him momentum and a 3-up lead through 12 holes.
