Wrestling roundup: Osakis sweeps, while Alexandria drops two at Detroit Lakes

RENVILLE — The Osakis wrestling team swept a triangular at Renville County West on Thursday.

The Silverstreaks beat Quad County 42-32 and BOLD in a 46-23 match.

Simon Jacobson (113), Kale Drevlow (152) and Tyson Hagedon (160) had pins for Osakis against BOLD. Christian Nathe (132) won a 15-4 major decision, and Reggie George (106), Tucker Hagen (126), Preston Kunkel (195) and Conner Koep (220) won by forfeit.

George started off the win over Quad County by getting a third-period pin at 106 pounds. Jacob Taplin added a pin in 1:19 at 120, and Koep (220, 3:04), and Gaven Cimbura (145, 3:46) added pins as well.

Tucker Hagen won 6-2 at 132, and Tyson Hagedon took a 3-1 win at 160 around forfeit wins for Osakis from Nathe and Drevlow.

Cardinals drop two at Detroit Lakes

The Alexandria wrestling team (10-7) dropped two matches at a triangular in Detroit Lakes on Thursday as the Cardinals fell 47-30 to Morris Area-Hancock Area-Chokio-Alberta and 48-30 against Section 8AA foe Detroit Lakes.

Alexandria lost the toss-up matches that the Cardinals needed to get to win the team match.

Dylan Gray earned his first varsity win. Mason Teaser and Mason McGrane both went 2-0 and collected bonus points in each of their matches.

Alexandria bounces right back and wrestles at a quad in Fergus Falls on Friday night against the Otters, Sartell and Ottertail Central.
