Osakis sophomore Joy Kral is in her first year of wrestling for the Silverstreaks program and is headed to the second-ever sanctioned girls state tournament after earning second place at the Section 6 & 7 meet in Sartell on Saturday.

Kral had a bye in the 185-pound bracket to begin her day and then pinned Willow Horrack of Nash-Kree-Greenway in the semifinals (2:48). After being pinned by the top seed, Kami Senlycki (Cambridge-Isant) in the finals (0:56), Kral bounced back with a pin in the true second place match over Coon Rapids’ Madison Sauvageau (3:26) to punch her ticket to the state tournament.

Kral is now 7-7 on the year.

She will wrestle at the 2023 MSHSL State Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center from March 3-4 in St. Paul.
