The Alexandria wrestling team earned two solid wins on Thursday as it beat Mahnomen-Waubun 78-6 and Barnesville 54-24.
Alexandria had seven pins in its win over Mahnomen-Waubun and six wins by forfeit.
Nolan Fettig (106) earned a first period pin (1:10), while Mason Evjen (126) earned a second period pin (2:41), Jacob Loween (132) earned a pin (3:04), Isaac Saffert (138) had a first period pin (1:30), Kelly Johnson (170) picked up a second period pin (2:48), Landon Seward (182) earned a pin at the tail end of the first period (2:00) and so did Luke Maanum (1:54) at 285.
Against Barnesville, Alexandria had pins from Saffert (3:39), Blaze Nelson at 145 (1:12), Johnson (2:35) and Pablo Garcia at 195 (2:55). Alexandria won four bouts via forfeit.
The Cardinals wrestle in duals at St. Croix Lutheran Academy starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

BHVPP splits Thursday duals
The Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie Raiders went 1-1 on Thursday as it beat Wadena-Deer Creek 63-12 and came up with a close loss, 36-30, against Holdingford.
Against WDC, BHVPP had pins from Hudson Traux at 106 (1:30) and Abby Ervasti at 152 (1:19). It also had a 10-2 major decision from Justin Olson at 120, a 16-1 technical fall win at 138 from Deagan Captain, a 5-3 decision by Blake Sumstad at 160 and a 6-3 decision at 182 by Justin Koehn.
BHVPP won five weights by forfeit.
Holdingford won five straight bouts from 152-195 to seal its win over BHVPP.
BHVPP had pins from Evan Jares (2:25), Captain (0:13), Braden Shamp at 220 (4:03) and Hunter Strom at 285 (1:33). Traux picked up a 10-5 decision in the dual while Revering won 4-2 in sudden victory period one.
BHVPP wrestles in the Prowler Invite on Saturday at 9 a.m. in Thief River Falls.
