For the second consecutive year, the West Central Area Volleyball team has won the Wheaton Tournament.

The Knights won Saturday’s tournament with wins over Lac Qui Parle Valley (2-1 - 25-23, 21-25, 15-7), Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (2-1 - 25-18, 20-25, 15-8), Mahnomen (2-0 - 25-13, 25-22) and Park Christian (2-0 - 26-24, 25-20).

The Knights are now 7-1 this season.

“It was a good day to try some of our girls in different positions,” head coach Melissa Foslien said. “It felt good to be back among familiar teams that we have seen here before. LQPV has a strong team and looked really good today. Wheaton always seems to find a rhythm after this tournament, but unfortunately, we won’t see them again this season.”

Mya Foslien had a team-high 47 kills for the Knights in the tournament. Addison Staples had 21 for the Knights. Whitney Westrom and Izzy Puchalski each reached double-figures in kills as well, with Westrom having 16 and Puchalski having 13.
