The West Central Area volleyball team beat Minnewaska in a 3-1 match on Thursday.

The Knights (3-1) won sets two through four to complete the win after the Lakers (2-2) won the opening set by a 25-23 final.

With fast starts to each set, the Brandon-Evansville Chargers got the momentum needed to defeat Parkers Prairie, 3-0, on Thursday. B-E earned its first win of the season, while Parkers Prairie lost for the first time.

“(We) seem to keep fighting our way through the West Central Conference,” WCA head coach Melissa Foslien said of the program's first year in the new conference. “Another evenly matched pair of teams. We just continue to work hard and battle. Macy Grosz made her 1,000th career assist early in the fourth set. Both teams hit the ball aggressively. Whitney Westrom was tenacious at the net out of the middle.”

WCA heads to Wheaton for a tournament this Saturday that starts at 9 a.m.
