Volleyball: Cardinals go 4-0 at Runestone Invitational

Alexandria earns wins over Morris, Big Lake, Minnewaska and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at the Runestone Invitational

The Alexandria volleyball team had a successful weekend at home hosting the Runestone Invitational, where it went 4-0 and took home the invitational championship.

Alexandria swept pool play with sweeps over Morris and Big Lake 2-0 and a 2-1 win over Minnewaska. The third set of the Minnewaska match was tied at 14 and Alexandria won the set after back-to-back aces by junior Maddi Buysse.

The Cardinals met Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in the invitational championship. Alexandria won the match with a 2-0 sweep (25-15, 25-17).

Alexandria is now 13-4 on the season and will be on the road for the rest of the regular season. Alexandria heads to Moorhead (6-9) for a match at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
