The Minnewaska girls tennis team took care of business in its Section 6A playoff match against the No. 5 seed Melrose, 6-1, to advance to the Section 6A team tournament semifinals in Rogers on Tuesday.
Minnewaska, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, won three singles matches and swept the doubles matches in the win.
Sophomore Megan Thorfinnson earned a three-set win at No. 1 singles for the Lakers. Freshman Alia Randt earned a sweep for the Lakers at No. 2 singles and freshman Olivia Danielson did the same at No. 3 singles.
Sophomore Sydney Dahl/senior Olivia Bleick earned the win for the Lakers at No. 1 doubles, while seniors Grace Jensen and Zoey Elwood earned the point at No. 2 doubles and sophomores Avarie Uhde and Katy Vold won at No. 3 doubles.
Minnewaska faces top-seeded Litchfield in the semifinals on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Rogers. The winner of that semifinal will face either the No. 3 seed Osakis or the No. 2 seed New London-Spicer in the Section 6A championship.
