The Alexandria boys swimming and diving team navigated tough road conditions on Thursday and got in a meet on the road against Brainerd, which Brainerd won 109-75.
Alexandria had four first place finishes at the meet, with Erik Reineke winning the 100 freestyle, Eric Peterson winning the 100 backstroke, Logan Tung winning the 100 breaststroke and the team of Reineke, Peterson, Gavin Peterson, and Cooper Running in the 400 freestyle relay.
Along with winning the 100 backstroke, Peterson met the state qualifying time standard in the 100 butterfly. Alexandria had a couple of personal bests from Andy Wacek in the 200 IM, along with Carson Bumgarner in the 100 backstroke and Camden Kosters in the 100 breaststroke.
Alexandria had personal bests from Micah Kietzmann, Andrew Crowser, and Zach Iverson in the 50 freestyle, while Ethan Mellgren had a lifetime best in the 100 butterfly, and so did Keaton Dummer and Tony Olson in the 500 freestyle.
The Cardinals are at home for a meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Melrose Area.
