Soccer: Xolos Academy FC 16U team earns second in silver division at 2022 Target USA Cup

The Xolos Academy 16U team shined in its six games in the silver division at the 2022 Target USA Cup by finishing in second place.

At the 2022 Target USA Cup in Blaine, the Xolos Academy FC 16U soccer team made a deep run and finished in second place in the silver division.

The Xolos 16U team played six games from July 12-16. In the championship game, the Xolos fell 1-0 to the Twin Cities Rush in the silver division championship game. The Twin Cities Rush outscored their opponents 37-3 in the cup.

To get to the championship, the Xolos had to get through the Winona Euro FC team. The Xolos dominated in the game, winning by an 8-1 score.

The 16U team roster at this tournament included Brenna Eggebraaten of Alexandria, who was not able to make it to the championship game but played a big role in getting the team to that point. This USA Cup was the first ever for the 16U team.

The tournament is labeled as the largest youth soccer tournament in North America.


The Xolos Academy is based out of Baxter and consists of athletes from Alexandria, Baxter, Brainerd and Grand Rapids.
