Nordic Skiing: Alexandria girls placed third at Little Falls, boys take seventh

Alexandria saw some success at its final meet before its conference meet.

In its final meet before the Central Lakes Conference championship, the Alexandria nordic skiing team traveled to the Camp Ridley military base for the Little Falls Invite on Thursday.

The Alexandria girls varsity team placed third in the 10-team meet and were led by top 25 finishes by Jaelyn Miller (2nd - 35:11), Kasey Soderholm (20th - 38:24), and Mackenzie Jurchenko (22nd - 38:42). Teresa Bitzan placed 35th (40:26), while Madeline Hochhaleter (40:51), Amelia Lucken placed 41st (41:26) and Meredith Sundby placed 61st (45:09).

Lauren Huber and Bobbi Nichols placed seventh in the girls sprint relay, while Ryker Bosek and Sullivan Rooney placed seventh in the boys varsity sprint relay.

Luke Walsh placed 32nd in the boys varsity race (34:33), while Cyler Coauette placed 42nd (35:55), Max Chinn placed 44th (36:05), and Spenser Chinn placed 45th (36:20). Erick Bergerson placed 48th (36:40), Sawyer Larson placed 60th (38:36), and Logan Holtz placed 68th (40:39). Alexandria placed seventh as a team.

The girls JV team had top-eight finishes from Johanna Kjolhaug (6th - 19:35) and Mila Warzecha (7th - 19:39). Tiahna Goeke placed 12th (20:19), Taylor Swedberg placed 20th (21:08) and Lacey Siira placed 21st (21:11). Catherine Englund placed 27th (21:28), while Elsa Lucken placed 36th (21:59) and Linnea Hoven placed 41st (22:17).

Kenna Kleven placed 43rd (22:25), Atti Hoven placed 51st (23:25), and Autumn Ehlert placed 60th (24:32). Emma Hochhalter placed 61st (24:34), Tatum Ketelsen earned 63rd (24:43), and Mattie Scholten placed 68th (25:32).

In the boys JV race, Nick Strauss placed 11th (17:35), while Jackson Dutcher placed 24th (18:15), Sawyer Filipiak placed 32nd (18:31), Matty Soderholm placed 33rd (18:39), and Lars Dahl placed 34th (18:39). Owen Gilbertson placed 36th (18:46), Berg Swanson placed 38th (18:52), Elijah Kjolhaug placed 39th (18:57), and Jakin Miller placed 42nd (18:59).

Ben Scholten placed 43rd (19:06), Isaiah Anderson placed 50th (19:32), and Carter Rush placed 54th (19:49). Andrew Mayer placed 58th (20:00), Gabe Hoven placed 64th (20:13), and Matthew Moga placed 74th (22:01).

Alexandria heads up to the Brainerd area to Northland Arboretum for the conference championship at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2.
