Gymnastics: Sartell tops Alexandria

Alexandria recorded a couple of personal bests in its dual against Sartell on Tuesday.

In a loss on the road to Sartell on Tuesday, the Alexandria gymnastics teams still managed to earn some season and personal bests. Sartell won the meet 136.7-129.6.

Izzy Kent posted a personal best score of 8.675 on the bars and won that event on Tuesday.

Addison Twa earned two personal bests on the night; one came on the vault with a score of 9.1 (3rd), and the other came in the floor competition, where she posted a score of 8.575 (4th). These top four finishes helped her place third in the all-around score with a total of 32.525.

Jamie Aldis placed fifth on the vault with a score of 8.8 and tied her all-time personal best.

Addison Fettig placed fourth on the vault (8.9), third on the beam (8.25), and fifth in the all-around (25.2).

Addison Gulbranson rounded out Alexandria’s top-five finish with a finish on the bars with a score of 7.475.

Sartell won the JV competition as well, 129.35-121.4.

Kent placed second in the JV beam competition with a season best score of 7.95, while Kiera Christenson placed fourth with a personal best score of 7.75.

Fettig placed third in the JV bars competition with a score of 7.55, while Gulbranson placed third in the JV vault competition and placed third with a score of 8.5. Mia Haugen placed fourth with a personal best of 8.45, while Hailey Brittin placed fifth with a personal best score of 8.4.

Alexandria next competes at St. Cloud Tech at 6 p.m. on Friday.
