Golf: West Central Area boys win Underwood Meet

WCA Knights win Underwood Meet by 13 strokes

The West Central Area boys golf team came out of a meet at Balmoral Golf Club in Battle Lake on Friday with a victory. The Knights posted a score of 348 to win the meet by 13 strokes.

The Knights took home three of the six medals, led by Marshall Dewey. Dewey earned fourth while Peyton Hanson finished fifth and Mitch Dewey placed sixth.

Rounding out the scores for the Knights, Brett Amundson scored a 95, Sam Hanson posted a score of 102 and Blake Flint posted a score of 119.

Underwood’s Trevor Swonger took first place with a score of 81 by beating Otter Tail Central’s Carter Dilly in a “scorecard playoff.”

The Knights boys and girls team hit the course on Monday for meets at 1 p.m. at Tipsinah Golf Course in Elbow Lake.
